“The Human Body: Pushing the Limits of Strength” on Discovery Channel (March 2008)

Now THIS is what I’ve been talking about! It’s not magic, we’re just capable of so much more. “We only use a third of our muscle strength.”

If you want to be inspired to do more, to be more, watch this.

Okay, maybe I’m overselling it – or maybe I’ve just been inspired by this show. But to think of how much more we can do, how much potential we have to unlock…

There are a bunch of things that come to mind. Forgive me for waxing philosophical once again.

People do what they want to do, not what they say they want to do.

And anytime you use the word “should,” either you’re not going to do it or you’ll do it begrudgingly and not like it. Do you ever say “I should laugh” or “I should enjoy this sunshine on my face?”

But then what about the things we really do want to do and don’t? Maybe, probably, it’s fear. We don’t think we can, or don’t think we “should.”

Another thing to think about is something a friend recently asked me: “What did you try for the first time lately?”

When we’re kids, everything is an adventure, everything is a possibility. And, of course, we grow and become “practical.” The challenge is then to un-program ourselves a bit in order to rediscover the wonder of life. And try something new, as often as possible.

The word “Can’t.” It usually means won’t, it means scared to, it means I have convinced myself that I cannot.

And then you see a show like this one that says, “No, actually you CAN do this. Want proof?”

So please, go out and try something new, something you’re scared of, something you don’t think you can do.

Or go watch this show.

And then do it!
