The National Geographic channel aired a show last night, August 20th, called "Fight Science."
This is a MUST SEE. And not in the way that I said “The Bachelor, Part 3” was a must see.
They built a dojo/laboratory to test speed, compression, accuracy, etc, using top martial artists in Kung Fu, Jiu-Jitsu, Tai Kwon Do, Boxing and other forms. They went over all types of strikes and weapons.
For a skeptic like me who needs physical proof of things, the applied science of data collection made me love and respect Kung Fu that much more.
A kung fu punch, by the way, was scientifically proven to strike FOUR TIMES FASTER THAN A SNAKE! Clocked at 27 miles per hour.
Still skeptical, I hooked myself up to a home-made machine to test my own strikes. I can strike EIGHT TIMES FASTER THAN A SMALL GERBEL WITH ONLY SLIGHT RETARDATION IN ITS LEFT LEG.
Scientifically speaking... I am one bad mutha.
