Bak Fu Pai Herbal History

A complete kung fu system instructs martial arts training and promotes health through physical conditioning, qigong and herbs. Every student of kung fu must be on an herbal regimen, as should anyone who desires strong and enduring health. The Bak Fu Pai herbal formulas are “remedies for the common people” which come from the Shaolin era and the Doo Family. Our herbal prescriptions date back nearly two thousand years. Most of the formulas come from three places: The Southern Shaolin Temple, The Daoist Temple in O’Mei and the Doo family. The Doo family is a lineage of doctors and healers renowned for their 25 generations of healing knowledge. During the Tang dynasty, beginning around 618 AD, the Doo ancestors served as physicians to the Royal Court.

White Tiger Kung Fu Dit Da Jow

Dit Da Jow is an herbal tincture developed and used by Chinese martial arts masters over thousands of years. Each master and their family developed their own specific recipe, a closely guarded secret passed down over the generations. Some of the White Tiger formulas were developed by the monks at the temples, while other came from rural villages in China that Fung Do Duk traveled to. We also have all of Grandmaster Doo Wai's family recipes, unchanged formulae dating back thousands of years.

Dit Da Jao is basically an herbal mixture, soaked in an alcohol/water solution for some period of time in a darkened place. Alcohol solutions can be wine, vodka, gin, or such. The tincture is kept out of the light since light can break down some of the herbal biochemicals that work their magic. The longer it can be left to soak before use the better, as it becomes stronger over time.
