On Monday Sifu Wood and I started a ketosis diet aimed at reducing body fat and training the body to run leaner. Sifu is going to be competing at the 10 +mile obstacle course called the Tough Mudder in Big Bear, with a team of White Tiger students and instructors. Blair is racing in a 140 mile Ironman triathlon in November.
In lowering the total body weight and more significantly obtaining an optimal body mass index, the look to enhance their overall performance and reduce race times. Re-conditioning the body to run efficiently requires a plan, bit of dedication, and a ton of preparation. Taking the body below a 10% BMI is really about the diet. The ketosis diet is a process of denying the body all simple sugars and carbs for a prolonged period of time, triggering the brain to release stored energy…also known as FAT!
This diet is not a lifestyle, but rather a sort of a reset on the body. Follow the blog as we do a 21 day ketosis diet following by the re-introduction of breads and sweet treats.
If you have questions about diet or how to meet your specific training goals check in with your instructors…great resources available to you.
